Time to say goodbye – Mike Butler retires as Product Manager after 50 years of continued service
After 50 years (!) of service dedicated to “his” company, Mike Butler left his position as Product Manager EBPG Systems as of July 25, 2018 to take up new challenges in his life. All of us at Raith thank him for his incredible working attitude and his successful work over such a long period, while the community appreciates his highly valued contributions to making EBL the standard workhorse in wide areas of nanoscience and technology.
Mike joined Cambridge Instruments in September 1968 as a 16-year-old straight from school, and became a member of the Lithography team in 1974. Since then, he and the company itself have been developing through different positions and evolutions respectively. After the merger of Raith and Vistec (formerly Cambridge Instruments) in 2013, Mike continued as Product Manager for EBPG, with duties including support in successfully developing the Asian markets for Raith.
Throughout his career he has always acted as support to the international sales team, traveling many countries and offering technical sales support on a day-to-day base. Finally, Mike contributed to shaping the EBPG systems for a successful future and transferring his responsibilities to the new Product Management team at Raith.
We thank Mike again for his longstanding passionate work for us, and wish him all the best for the next phase in his personal life.
